Cult Liverpool band The Stairs have now announced details of their first single and album in over 20 years with both being released on November 26 to coincide with a reunion gig in the Kazimier, Liverpool.

The Stairs were one of the best-lost scouse bands of the early 90’s who influenced (along with the La’s), a whole new generation of musicians including The Coral & The Zutons.

The band were known for their 1991 hit ‘Weed Bus’ and are about to release an album of lost recordings that recently re-surfaced in singer Edgar Jones’ parents’ loft. Independent tape-enthusiasts Blak Hand Records have been selected as the label of choice for a limited edition 3 track EP cassette release featuring new single ‘Shit Town’ which serves as the accompanying tape to the 7″ released on Eighties Vinyl Records.

The track listing includes ‘Fall Down The Rain (Surf)’, ‘I Wont Be Back Again’, and ‘Shit Town’, which will also be found on the band’s new album The Great Lemonade Machine In The Sky out on The Viper Label .

The Stairs  tickets at The Kazimier are available here and the limited edition cassette (25 copies) can be purchased from the Blak Hand Records Bandcamp.
