Elbow’s Guy Garvey and Jim Chancellor of Fiction Records have joined forces on Snug Platters, their new record label that will only be releasing  10″ vinyl records in limited edition runs of 1000.

The first release, due out on the 18th of May comes from Steve with an EP entitled ‘High Failure Rate’

The official press release goes something like this..

Steve is a one man band. Steve has made a debut EP. This is music of grime and beats, attack and destroy, light and shade; from furious to floating in one EP.  Bleeps and blips and grinds and gears, a new electronic lexicon voiced by a new androgyny of unsure heritage.

I am Steve. I am a one man band. ‘High Failure Rate’ is four Steve tracks.

I am Steve this is Steve hello Steve, now go away Steve, ok.

Steve will only communicate via text. To talk to Steve text SNUG to 62277.

As it turns out Steve is in fact Jane Parker, who those with a good memory might remember from Manchester band Rude Club who burned brightly from 1996-1997.

All Snug Platters releases are limited to 1000 copies and available on 10” vinyl exclusively via the Fiction Store at http://po.st/SteveVinyl
