Joining forces once more with Brother Willis (makers of the kaleidoscopic video for recent single ‘No No No’), and interested by the idea of a setting by the sea and “the massive island of trash that is growing and floating out in the Pacific,” ‘Gibraltar’ follows Beirut leader Zach Condon and band members Paul Collins and Nick Petree picking their way through a fantasy Gibraltar to meet its ‘Rock’. The landscape – eerily abandoned and filled with detritus – is a world away from its real-life European namesake.

Beirut’s headline tour begins next month, and with tickets for their only UK show – at London’s Brixton Academy – sold out, the New Yorkers have announced another London show in Hackney’s St. John’s Church on September 25th. Tickets for the show are on sale now.
