Festival-No-6-long (1)[1]

Set in the scenic Portmeirion, North Wales, 2016’s Festival No. 6 looks to be the best one yet!

From 1-4 September expect to see the charms of Noel Gallagher, Hot Chip, Bastille, Echo & The Bunnymen, Blossoms, Super Furry Animals and so many more, whilst slaloming the colourful, cobbled streets of the infamous setting for cult sci-fi ‘The Prisoner’ (1967-68).

Festival No. 6 is not like your usual festival. No mammoth fields to conquer, no mounds of mud to slog through and no filler acts, just plenty of intimate experiences created through a family like atmosphere.

Headlining the Friday are pop rockers Bastille, a perfect headliner to close the first night’s play. After a very successful start to their music careers with ‘Bad Blood’ (2013), with a new album in the pipeline for 2016, spectators are in for a treat with their indie feel good music.

Seeing off Saturday’s proceedings are dance/electronic sweethearts Hot Chip, who are sure to get everyone going. Known for their energetic and uplifting performances, the 5 piece from London are most definitely going to get you dancing with renditions of “Over and Over” and “One Life Stand”, amongst many others.

Closing on the Sunday is Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, bringing his stereotypical Mancunian Swagger to North Wales. Expect some profanity but more importantly stimulating music as the former Oasis man, plays tunes from his self-titled debut and ‘Chasing Yesterday’ (2015).

As well as the headliners the weekend has more than a smattering of great acts such as Silent Radio Show favourites The Lovely Eggs, The Wave Pictures, Super Furry Animals, Blossoms, Cabbage, Eagulls, Get Inuit, Gwenno, Horsebeach, Roisin Murphy, Roots Manuva, Teleman, The Nightingales and This Is The Kit. Full line up of acts here

With your chance to win two weekend tickets for the festival, be sure to listen in to the Silent Radio Show via FAB Radio International, each Saturday afternoon between 3 and 5. We’ll be asking two very important questions over the next two shows (6th & 13th August), if you’re the lucky winner who’s picked from the correct entries, then you’ll be packing up your sleeping bag and heading to the award-winning festival in early September.

Question 1 has already been revealed in last week’s radio show. You can find it here
