Travis Stewart follows up on last years ‘Many Faces E.P.’ and a recent appearance at Sonar festival with his debut album for Planet Mu.

Dubstep now regularly flirts with the mainstream, but ‘Room(s)’ remains underground while sounding fresh and suitable for the dancefloor. Building on his background as a hip hop producer, Machinedrum has created a high-speed and beautifully intricate form of psychedelic mutant pop, containing elements of early rave and ambient jungle.

Fans of Flying Lotus and Martyn will appreciate its complexity, Mount Kimbie and Floating Points followers will enjoy the soulful grooves and it also manages to construct images of a dark, urban cityscape, as explored by the likes of Burial and Scuba.

‘Room(s)’ is released via Planet Mu on July 25th 2011
