Following a (mostly sold out) headline tour through the UK this month, Perfume Genius is now giving away a brand new track, “Rusty Chains” for free.
In Mike Hadreas’ own words, “it’s a song for a man whose lover has died. He remembers a time, before his partner took sick, where everything felt safe and endless. He asks to be taken next, so they can be together again”. It was previously included in the iTunes version of his critically acclaimed new album “Put Your Back N 2 It”.
He has just completed a rapturously received, sold out UK tour, his new, breakthrough LP “Put Your Back N 2 It” is already being hailed as one of the albums of the year so far, and the acclaim has been pouring in (not least from one Michael Stipe). 2012 has undoubtedly been a good year for Perfume Genius.
Now, on the back of a run of UK/EU festival dates in the summer, Perfume Genius (aka Mike Hadreas) is now getting ready to announce another string of UK shows, including a very special gig at the beautiful Union Chapel. For anyone who missed his intimate shows earlier this month, these will be absolutely unmissable.
