With their industrially-charged new record Stop Mute Defeat hitting the shelves in just under a month, post-psych overlords White Hills have unveiled the brain-melting, surreal video for ‘Importance 101’.

The second in Stop Mute Defeat’s series of videos created and directed by bassist Ego Sensation, ‘Importance 101’ delves through the looking glass to depict a twisted nightmare world, where everything isn’t quite as unfamiliar as it first seems. Channelling the apocalyptic cynicism of visionary artists such as Throbbing Gristle, Derek Jarman, and William Burroughs, Ego’s abstract visions heighten the shadows of the darkening West, a point that’s brought home with Dave W’s haunting incantation: “Chaos is the score to which we lose more and more / Don’t rely on counting sheep.”

White Hills new album Stop Mute Defeat is out Friday 19th May 2017 on Thrill Jockey Records. The band will mark the release with an extensive European tour, covering Germany, France, The Netherlands, The UK, Belgium Luxembourg, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Spain and Portugal.
