With the first leaves falling off the trees, autumn is just around the corner, what better place to hide away than in a sweaty room somewhere in Manchester watching some of your favourite bands and artists. Here is what is happening in September.

o The Burning Hell — Yes Pink Room – The Burning Hell is the brainchild of Mathias Korn and Ariel Sharratt, their music gives the same feeling as reading a fantasy book, heroes and villains, frequent themes of apocalypse and basing heavily into creating a new and ambitious sound that is a delight for fans and newcomers alike. All signs are looking like it will be a night full of new experiences, Doors are at 7pm.

o Dope Lemon — New Century Hall – Coming across the world to give fans a treat, are Australian indie band Dope Lemon. They have been together for nearly a decade, and this will be their third visit to Manchester. Fans can expect a night filled with their iconic vocals and classics they have come to love since their formation and some hits off their latest album released in May.

o Black Country, New Road — Albert Hall – Three years on from the departure of frontman Isaac Wood, Black Country, New Road have pushed themselves even further, and onto new and ambitious projects, fans can expect a night of raucous and experimental music. Though with a band such as this, there really is no telling what is about to happen when you set foot through those doors.

o Olivia Dean — Gorilla – not long after selling out the Co-Op Live, Olivia Dean is performing an extremely intimate and special show at Gorilla celebrating the release of ‘The Art of Loving’. it is set to be an incredibly special event, and for those lucky few who did happen to snatch up the near 600 tickets available, are set for a night they will boast about for years to come. Doors are at 7pm.

o Lewis Capaldi – Co-Op Live – Following his triumphant return at this year’s Glastonbury, Lewis Capaldi gave the world a true resilience story, overcoming issues beyond his control and showing us what he can do, and what a return to Manchester it will be with a 23,000 capacity venue screaming every word back. Those lucky enough with tickets should arrive at 6:30pm, and if you feel you’re missing out, there are still some tickets available at retailers.

o British Birds — Gullivers – it is always good to support local talent, and British Birds are representative of the wider north-west, hailing from Chorley, they are a band who are truly onto something spectacular, described as Talking Heads meets Violent Femmes, it surely won’t be long before their name is everywhere. Be amongst the early ones who saw them before they were massive this September at Gullivers.

o Self Esteem — Academy – Only a short few months after the release of the monumental ‘Complicated Woman’ Self Esteem solidified their place in fans hearts and as some people online have quoted “makes me proud to be from Sheffield again”. With 3 dates at Manchester Academy, the former Slow Club singer is ready to show Manchester what she is made of. Doors for Self Esteem are at 7pm.
