Following the madness of last month, August is more of a chill month in Manchester, but there are still some amazing gigs for you to get out and enjoy, take a look what is going on around the city this month.

o The Royston Club — Gorilla – On the eve of their second studio album, Wrexham indie four piece are making an appearance at Gorilla, from their widely received debut album to the singles released ahead of their latest release ‘Songs For the Spine’, expect a night fuelled by indie bangers and sticky floors. Doors are at 7pm.

o Fontaines D.C. – Wythenshawe Park – Hot on the heels of last years ‘Romance’, Fontaines D.C. are the first to kick off 2025’s ‘Live From Wythenshawe Park’ that has hosted the likes of Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds, Blossoms and New Order. A full of day of wonderful music is ready for you at this one, from Mercury Prize winners English Teacher to the powerful and evoking Kneecap all topped off with Fontaines D.C..

The Lemonheads – 02 Ritz – Celebrating the release of their first album in nearly 20 years, The Lemonheads are returning to Manchester, the last time this Alt-rock classic was in the city was 2022 as part of their 30 year anniversary of their acclaimed album ‘It’s A Shame About Ray’ The Lemonheads are a band that personify the 90s and their live performances are often spoken about with high regard, Doors are at 7PM

o The Maccabees – 02 Victoria Warehouse – When the Maccabees split up 8 years ago fans were devastated, after four amazing albums it was all over in a flash. Until October 2024 came around, and The Maccabees announced they would be playing a huge hometown reunion show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their final album ‘Mark’s To Prove It’, this then transformed into a UK/Ireland tour all in the build up to their hometown show at ‘All Points East’. If you never got chance to see The Maccabees in their prime, this is the perfect opportunity to get out and see them.

o Bartees Strange — Yes Pink Room – Following the success of his latest album ‘Horrors’ released earlier this year Bartees Strange will be performing his blend of indie and hip-hop at YES pink room, Strange has a history of delivering exciting and energetic shows, with a mixture of emotionally raw and vulnerable tracks that tell a story to the listener and gives Strange a chance to express his vulnerable side to the audience.

o Addison Rae — Academy – It has been just over 2 months since Addison Rae released her debut album, and her fans are still loving it, and now for the first time she is going to be playing live in Manchester. Fans can expect a night full of their favourite pop tunes influenced by the likes of Katy Perry and Britney Spears. Doors are at 7PM
