SLOWCOACHES RAIL AGAINST MASCULINITY IN NEW SINGLE ‘COMPLEX’ – WATCH THE VIDEO NOW PLUS UK TOUR STARTS THIS WEEK

“The music industry really feeds toxic masculinity by putting male artists on a pedestal,” observes Slowcoaches vocalist / bassist Heather Perkins. “‘Complex’ is a response to the sexual assault allegations against artists that were in the press at the time I wrote it. There’s still a really dirty side to the industry – particularly with the encouragement and portrayal of male artists in rock music to god-like status. All too often, the system is adhering... Read More

LIVE: PLACEBO – 11/10/2017

Placebo -ALBERT HALL, MANCHESTER- Placebo were due to play the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool until worries about the venue’s roof meant it was forced to close. Due to some last minute changes of plan, the closest similarly sized venue was the Albert Hall in Manchester. It might not be that close (proximity-wise) to Blackpool but it’s an equally impressive room. The last minute announcement hasn’t affected the atmosphere, but Placebo crowds are nothing if not enthusiastic.... Read More

PROTOMARTYR NOVEMBER 2017 UK TOUR DATES Sun. 12 – Brighton,... Read More

Ulrika Spacek – SOUP KITCHEN, MANCHESTER-  Back from a tour of Europe, Reading’s Ulrika Spacek are back in Manchester with a second album under their belts, Modern English Decoration. A more polished article than their first album – guitars are beautifully woven together with gentle vocals, similar to Deerhunter, with gritty guitars and relentlessly addictive beats. White noise is projected onto their faces as they jam to get the sound just right. A trippy version... Read More
