Pixies: Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago, David Lovering
Pixies will release an expanded version of their classic album Doolittle to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Pixies: Doolittle 25 is a three-disc collection featuring 50 tracks including demos, B-sides and Peel sessions.
More than half of the tracks included have not been commercially released before.
The album, which was originally recorded in 1989 with producer Gil Norton, features some of the band’s biggest hits, including Monkey Gone to Heaven, Here Comes Your Man, and Debaser.
The band, who split in 1993 but reunited in 2004, celebrated the 20th anniversary of the album in 2009 by announcing a world tour in which they played the album in full, including associated B-sides.
Following their return, the group released Indie Cindy, their first album of new material since 1991, without original bassist Kim Deal.
The collection, which is also available as a gatefold 2LP version, will be released by 4AD on December 1. It is available to pre-order at www.pixiesmusic.com
