The songs were written at home in their garden which is why they are vaguely about birds. The album includes 23 Ivor Cutler-esque spoken word pieces telling a surreal story to place alongside their trademark concise garage rock.
The second track to be revealed from the album, ‘Marriage’, is a blistering follow up to the quirky ‘Short and Round’.
‘Rare Birds: An Hour of Song’ will be released on Bingo Records on 20th October 2023 and will also include a fully illustrated 32-page booklet. It caps a busy period over the summer for the label which recently launched Wesley Gonzalez’s ‘Wild Garlic’ EP into a grateful world.
