Having released his debut album Ripe earlier this year SLUG – AKA Sunderland’s Ian Black, has plotted a brand new set of dates across the coming months. Coming up are appearances at UK festivals and a Manchester date supporting FFS and then on to a headline tour in October

08 Aug – Whickham, Chase Park Festival

21 Aug – Glanusk Park, Greenman Festival

22 Aug – York, The Fulford Arms

24 Aug – Edinburgh, Edinburgh Festival Theatre (supporting FFS)

25 Aug – Manchester, Albert Hall (supporting FFS) (fancy free tix)

05 Sep – Portmeirion, Festival No.6

26 Sep – Liverpool, Liverpool Psych Festival

10 Oct – Middlesborough, Twisterella Festival

24 Oct – Leeds, Beacons Metro Festival

26 Oct – Sheffield, The Harley

27 Oct – Birmingham, The Rainbow

28 Oct – Brighton, The Hope

29 Oct – Kent, Ramsgate Music Hall

To coincide with this, SLUG have released a brand new track covering Kate Bush. Ian & co. have reinterpreted ‘The Big Sky.’ Ian Black explains:

“The approach was not try to match the majestic original (for I would have lost… badly) and have some fun with it. It has Rundgren pianos, daft synthesisers, a Led Zeppelin breakdown and myself struggling with the vocal delivery that only Kate would be able to pull off so brilliantly. Hope you enjoy it.”
