As part of the Manchester Kino Film festival Twisted Reel, the Northern Quarters regular music based film night, is screening Stephen Kijak’s 2006 film Scott Walker:30Century Man.

The film looks at Walkers career, from hits like ‘The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore’ to later work ‘Clara’, the influence his music had on other artistes and explores the issues that led to the 1960’s pin up becoming a virtual recluse.

Walker ,whose avant garde musical creations include using raw meat as percussion, speaks frankly alongside  interviewees including David Bowie(an executive producer of the film), Radiohead, Jarvis Cocker, Brian Eno, Damon Albarn, Marc Almond, Alison Goldfrapp, Sting, Dot Allison, Simon Raymonde, Richard Hawley, Rob Ellis, Johnny Marr, Gavin Friday, and Lulu.

A critically acclaimed documentary that will appeal to music fans of all persuasions. The screening will be upstairs at Gullivers on Sunday the 1st of June.

Before the screening Twisted Reel will also be playing host to the Kino shorts programme (free entry) starting 1pm.
