Alvvays will head on a UK tour to promote their self-titled debut album later this summer.

The Canadian indie-pop band will play Manchester’s Academy 2 as well as shows in York, Sheffield, Cardiff, Bristol, Nottingham, Brighton and Glasgow, finishing in London.

The band released their self-titled debut album on Transgressive Records in July last year, which was included in the NME and the London Evening Standard’s top albums of 2014 lists.

Lead singer Molly Rankin previously released her solo record She EP in 2010, before forming Alvvays with her childhood friend Kerri MacLennan and Alec O’Hanley, who she had played music with as a child, as well as new members Brian Murphy and Phil MacIssac.
