Mac DeMarco will release This Old Dog, his third album and first full-length since 2014’s Salad Days, on Friday 5th May 2017 via Captured Tracks. Following the release of lead singles, ‘My Old Man’ and ‘This Old Dog’; a pair of songs that immediately show a new sonic direction and the personal nature of the record, Mac offers up the self-directed video for the latter, filmed in his new hometown of Los Angeles.

He describes the release as: “A devoted dog discovers the meaning of its own existence, through the lives of the humans it teaches to laugh and love. Reincarnated as multiple canines over the course of five decades, the lovable pooch develops an unbreakable bond with a kindred spirit named Ethan. As the boy grows older and comes to a crossroad, the dog once again comes back into his life to remind him of his true self.”

Following an intimate solo show at London’s Nambucca on March 1st, Mac (guitar, vocals) along with his band – Jon Lent (bass, percussion), Joe McMurray (drums) Alec Meen (keys) and Andy White (guitar) – will tour Europe and North America amidst the release of This Old Dog. Additionally, Mac is playing a slew of festivals throughout the spring and summer including Coachella, Primavera Sound, Oya, Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball, as well as a headline slot at End Of The Road.
