Adwaith have released “Y Diweddaraf” the latest track from their debut album Melyn, which translates as “Yellow” in Welsh.  The new song is a meandering and defiant swipe at being told you can’t achieve your goals.  The video was filmed and edited by Welsh Art collective ‘The Shoot’ who have a strong working relationship with Adwaith and state that the video is about “Choosing to live between pillars of time, a journey into the unknown“.

Adwaith are Gwenllian, Hollie and Heledd; a young post-punk band from Carmarthen, South West Wales.  The main recording session for the album took place with the band’s long standing producer, Steffan Pringle last summer in Giant Wafer Studios in Llandrindod Wells, mid-Wales, with further sessions taking place over the last year in Cardiff.

The band have also been instrumental in encouraging gender equality within the Welsh music scene, via the creation of the FEMME gig nights. A succession of sold out club shows featuring artists as diverse as Ani Glass, Chroma, Serol Serol, Gwenno and the legendary Patricia Morgan from Datblygu all sharing the same stage.
