The other night, Daughter made their worldwide TV debut on long-running US chat show, The Late Show with David Letterman.

Ahead of their short US tour – beginning this week – the London-based trio of Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella performed ‘Youth’, a stand-out track from their 2011 EP The Wild Youth.

Daughter‘s Letterman appearance coincides with the release of their latest single ‘Smother’, out this week on 7″ vinyl. Their first new material since joining 4AD earlier this year, and only their third release in their short career, the single was co-produced by Igor with Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, Adele) and is backed by a new version of live favourite ‘Run’. Daughter are currently working on their debut album; ‘Smother’ and ‘Run’ offers a tantalising glimpse of what’s to come from the young trio.
