DEAP VALLY, the Los Angeles duo comprising Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards, return to the fray with their brilliant new album, Femejism, set for release via Cooking Vinyl on 16th September. Recorded in studios in Downtown Los Angeles and The San Fernando Valley, the album was produced by the band themselves and with Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ guitarist Nick Zinner. The album is a welcome return from the group, whose rock debut, Sistrionix, landed to righteous acclaim in 2013.

Fresh from recent North American tours with Peaches and with Wolfmother, Deap Vally now head to the UK this summer for early album preview shows including their first London date in two years, at London’s Boston Music Rooms on 28th July, and to headline a stage at Derbyshire’s Y Not Festival.  Tickets for the Glasgow, Manchester and London shows go on sale at 9am on Wednesday 8th June. Dates are:

 Sat       23        JULY   TRAMLINES FESTIVAL
Mon     25        JULY   GLASGOW, Broadcast (
Tickets)
Tues    26        JULY  MANCHESTER, Night & Day (Tickets)
Thurs   28        JULY   LONDON, Boston Music Rooms (Tickets)
Fri        29        JULY   Y NOT FESTIVAL (Headline Set)

Smile More, the first single to be taken from Femejism, is one of the songs on the album to be produced by Zinner. Debuted as the Hottest Record in The World by Radio 1‘s Annie Mac last night, the single brings the band’s rock ‘n’ roll roots to the fore and gives a tantalizing glimpse of what fans can look forward to from the new record.
